Antimalaria

Antimalarial drugs are medications used to treat or prevent malaria, a disease caused by parasites of the Plasmodium species. These drugs work by targeting different stages of the parasite's life cycle within the human body, primarily the asexual erythrocytic stage that causes symptomatic illness. They can be administered as pills or injections and include various classes like quinine derivatives, antifolates, antimicrobials, and artemisinin derivatives.
